From Cooling Pad to Cooler: How Honeywell India Builds Both
Most cooler suppliers buy their cooling media. We manufacture the production line that makes it. That changes what we can tell you about a pad, and what we can do when a specification needs to change.

Quick answer: Honeywell India manufactures honeycomb cooling pad making machinery and supplies finished air coolers. The cooling media inside an evaporative cooler is the component that determines how well it cools, and we work on it from the production side rather than buying it in.
The pad is the machine
An evaporative cooler is a fan, a pump, a cabinet and a pad. Of those, the pad does the cooling. Air passing through wetted media gives up heat as water evaporates, so pad material, flute geometry, depth and how evenly water wets the face set the temperature drop you get.
Everything else supports that process. This is why two coolers with identical tank capacity and fan size can perform differently: the media is not the same.
How a honeycomb pad is actually made
Cellulose kraft paper is treated with resin so it survives constant wetting, corrugated to form the flutes that create the honeycomb channels, glued in alternating orientations so those channels cross, cured in an oven so the resin sets, then cut to the pad size and angle required.
Each of those stages is a separate machine, and each affects the finished pad. Flute geometry determines the balance between contact area and air resistance. Resin treatment determines how long the pad survives. Curing determines whether the block holds its shape in service.
What we manufacture
We build the complete production line for that process: resin treatment, paper cutting, corrugating, gluing, curing ovens and sawing. Cooling pad manufacturers across India and in export markets run these lines to produce 5090 and 7090 honeycomb pads.
The individual machines are described on the honeycomb pad making machine page, and the sequence is set out in choosing a pad making machine.
Why that matters if you are buying coolers
When a question comes up about the media in a cooler, it is answered from the manufacturing side. What the flute size is, why a pad is a given depth, what happens to pad life on hard water, how the pad should be cleaned without damaging it.
It also means the two halves of our business inform each other. Failure modes we see in the field on coolers are the same defects we help pad manufacturers eliminate on the line, documented in manufacturing defects and troubleshooting.
Two ways to work with us
If you need finished air coolers, the range runs from compact domestic units to commercial and industrial formats, listed with confirmed capacities on the air cooler page.
If you intend to manufacture cooling pads yourself, we supply and commission the production line, and the capacity calculator will size it against your target output. Either way the enquiry goes to the same team.
Common questions
Do you manufacture air coolers or only the pad machinery?
Both. We manufacture honeycomb cooling pad production machinery and supply a finished air cooler range spanning compact domestic units through commercial and industrial formats.
What is the difference between 5090 and 7090 pads?
The numbers describe the flute geometry of the honeycomb media, which changes the balance between cooling contact area and resistance to airflow. The specifications are compared in our 5090 and 7090 specification guide.
Can you supply cooling pads as spare parts?
Pad replacement is part of normal cooler servicing. Send the model and pad dimensions through the enquiry page for current availability.
Do you export?
Yes. We supply machinery and cooling products to a number of overseas markets. Send your country and requirement through the export enquiry page.
